ITANAGAR, Aug 10: The Paktu Ao Youth Welfare Association (PAYWA) has criticized the decision of the Galo Students Union to constitute a fact finding committee to unearth the truth behind bribery allegation leveled against the union by one of its former office bearer. If the fact finding committee has already been constituted by the union, it should not go before media before any conclusion, the Association said and wanted to know the working style of the Fact finding committee. However, the Association believes that the committee will do their job sincerely for the greater interest of the society.
The Association also criticized the removal of Union’s adivisor Domin Loya for his political affiliation to Trinamool Congress. Prior to the appointment as GSU advisor, Loya was the executive member of Arunachal Congress, but the Union did not think about his political affiliation before his appointment, the association said.

Chayang Tajo people face ration crisis

Hand over NH52A to BRTF before it is too late

This is in reference to the recent press statement wherein the Public Works Department and UD Minister Nabam Tuki fixed responsibility on nature for the massive damages caused to roads.
The statement expresses its departmental incompetency, inefficiency and insincerity, failure to live up to the expectation of people and lack of coherent policy to regulate the roads of the state, especially twin capital complex.

It’s time to conserve Mithun in larger way
Dear Editor,
This is apropos the letter written by Dr K K Bhattacharjee (on Aug 9) regarding the activities initiated for the conservation and propagation of the prized animal of Arunachal Pradesh – Mithun. Dr Bhattacharjee has rightly said that every time whenever we see vaccination and treatment camp on Mithun or awareness camp against prevention of mass slaughter of Mithun, it only takes place in confined region of Arunachal Pradesh. Whereas we all know that Mithun is not only found in Papum Pare district alone.
While appreciating the views of Dr Bhattacharjee, I reqest the director of animal husbandry and veterinary to expand their activities to other parts of the state for conservation of Mithun population.

We are yet to see development
Dear Editor,
As per our observation the infrastructural development of 15th Sagalee S T Assembly has not gone as per proper plan. Though Sagalee town is hardly 74 KM away from Capital Itanagar, the communication and transportation facilities can be equal with some of the most backward districts of state.
Even then till date the condition of road is pathetic. It is shameful that a town which is so near to state capital do not have proper infrastructure facilities.
People of Sagalee area have to face many problems during monsoon season because of road blockade. Many a times we have to travel via Pitaphool (Yazali), Kimin to reach Itanagar.
Our local MLA, who is also PWD & UD minister, is in power for last 20 years.
It is surprising to see that his own constituency does not have proper road and communication
facilities. If this is the condition of his own home constituency, then how can he
take care of the rest of the state. We are made to believe that every year funds
are provided for maintenance of Sagalee-
At Sagalee town many urban projects are being taken up without any proper procedure.
The civic amenities are very poor and sometimes one wonders how Sagalee can be called an urban area.
We also acknowledge that crores of money has been spent for urbanization of Sagalee town but ground situation is quite different.
The rural area of Sagalee is in worst situation in compare to main town.
Since 2001, the very beginning of Science stream at Govt. Hr. Sec. School Sagalee to till date there is no any single senior and junior Science teacher for Science stream. It is the premier Hr. Sec. School of Sagalee Constituency and it is sad to know that no students are getting proper science education.
Education system has completely failed in the Sagalee area and concern representative do not seem to have any sympathy for the student community.
It is of no value being a minster for such a long time, if he is not able to give proper interest towards education, infrastructure and economic development of Sagalee constituency.
We would like to appeal AICC president Sonia Gandhi to ask his PCC president Nabam Tuki to concentrate more in developmental work so that ordinary citizens get real benefit.

Without noxious feeling I extremely agree with the points and terms of Upper Subansiri District Deputy Commissioner Ameya Abhayankar and Deputy Director of School Education Obuk Panor which was published in your esteemed daily on August 7.
Being citizen and former student of Upper Subansiri District I appreciate the action of Deputy Commissioner and Deputy Director of School Education.
Such an active and impel steps "No work no pay policy” being taken by the administration will certainly create an impact among all the teachers. Such policy will not only bring good result in education sector in our district but it will also be a lesson to learn for the teachers of entire state.
Regarding the reported drawal of Rs fifteen lakh as stipend which were recovered from various schools in form of bogus enrolment of the students and that many teachers were found involved in preparing bogus enrolment of the students, I would like to say that if it is true than its not fair because it defines that we are enjoying life of ritzy with the money which is meant for the poor student of Government schools.

Despite Israel's relatively healthy economic growth and low unemployment, wage disparities are big, wealth and corporate power are highly concentrated, food prices have increased almost 13 per cent since 2005 and many people spend 50 per cent of their incomes on rent or mortgages.
Now Millions of Israelis decided to march on September 3 protesting government's failure to address high cost of living, unemployment and lack of basic civic amenities.
The social protests have become the most pressing issue for the Israeli government. Opinion polls have put public support for the protests at around 90 per cent. Protest leaders have insisted that bringing the government down is not their aim.
On the other hand, as Israelis take to the streets to demand social justice, Palestinians are also gearing up to protest next month over their demands for recognition of a Palestinian state by the United Nations.
Palestinian leaders, backed by the Arab League, intend to ask the UN general assembly to back a Palestinian state when it meets in September. However, full recognition requires the backing of the UN security council, which the US has vowed to veto.

ITANAGAR, Aug 10: The Dambuk anchal ZPM and Anchal chairperson have appealed to the Dambuk MLA to intervene for construction of proposed bridge over Dibang river by the Navayug Engineering Pvt. Ltd.
Both ZPM Anita Payeng and anchal chairperson Tuppik Saring in a joint memorandum to the MLA said that the bridge construction agency, Navyug Engineering Company Pvt. Ltd. has decided to vacate their establishment as it could not construct the bridge due to non clearance from the district administration.

ITANAGAR, Aug 10: The Arunachal Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) appealed to all the organizations, associations, individuals and also the political parties to restrain calm and not to make the present situation created by nature’s furry disrupting road communication in the state as an issue.
The APCC president, who is also the Minister for PWD and Urban Development and currently at National Capital, is abreast of the havoc and disruptions caused by the heavy monsoon, APCC said in a release.
“It is a fact that every year, major landslides occurs in various parts of the state during this time. However, the department is putting all efforts to restore the normal traffic, specially in the state capital.”
“As our state is dependent on central funding the elected leaders are required to visit the national capital quite often to pursue schemes and projects in the public interest and also meetings and consultations are scheduled with various ministries in the Central Government.,” APCC said.

ZP chairperson emphasizes on financially viable schemes
CHANGLANG Aug 10: All rural schemes and proposals for inclusion in AAP and AOP should be finalized in due consultation with the grassroots level workers, said Changlang ZPC Junpo Taikam Jugli.
Presiding over the 3rd Changlang Zilla Parishad meeting yesterday, Jugli said that the proposed schemes\proposal should be considered taking into consideration its economical viability.
She criticized the various developmental schemes/project implementing agencies, particularly under SSA, for not involving the PR bodies while implementing such schemes/projects. She cautioned that such attitude on the part of the authority would not be tolerated now onwards.
Meanwhile, emphasizing on good quality seeds for the rural farmers, she asked officers
of the Agriculture and Horticulture department to provide high yielding variety seeds

Agri commissioner visits implementation of schemes in Lower Subansiri
ITANAGAR, Aug 10: Agriculture and Horticulture Commissioner Hage Kojeen visited the district agriculture office and district horticulture office of Lower Subansiri district yesterday to gather first hand knowledge about various ongoing schemes/projects and others problems faced by both the departments.
The commissioner while interacting with the officers, advised them to pass innovative ideas and modern techniques to the farmers for higher production and serve the people sincerely. He gave emphasis on maintaining quality while implementing any schemes or project.

TAWANG, Aug 10: Tawang deputy commissioner Kemo Lollen, who assumed office on August 1, called on Brig Sudhakar, Commander 190 Mountain brigade, at the latter’s office today.
During their discussion, the Brig Sudhakar informed the DC about various civic and welfare activities initiated by the Army under the aegis of 190 Mountain brigade for the welfare of the people of Tawang. Among them, Bharat darshan for the local students, setting up of a distant learning centre at Tawang under IGNOU and celebration of Maitri Diwas etc. are worth mentioning, he said. ITANAGAR, Aug 10: East Siang Elite Society (ESES) condemned the State Government‘s decision to transfer ‘very genuine’ and ‘efficient’ administrative officer Onit Panyang and demanded to revoke the transfer order for the betterment of East Siang district.
“Unlike his predecessors, Panyang has been executing his power and functions efficiently which is evident from his recent eviction drive against the land encroachers in Pasighat town. In fact, he is a boon to the East Siang district, who could stand up against social menace, ESES said.
“So many DCs have come and gone before the present DC, but never did they take up such initiatives. Had they done something at the very beginning this situation would not have happened today,” it said.
The association hoped that state’s chief secretary’s positive respond towards the ESES’ demand would be highly considered as an encouragement to the genuine and efficient officers of the state, it said. Meanwhile, the Society strongly condemned the statement made by United Siang Progressive Alliance (USPA). The DC has become a big obstacle for those illegal land encroachers and that is why these people with vested interest are trying to get him out of the district, it added.
PSSC won Border Area Friendship Volleyball trophy
ITANAGAR, Aug 10: Pip Sorang Sports Club beat Team Ka Nam Team in the final match of the Border Area Friendship Volleyball Tournament on August 9. The tournament was held at Hollongi and organized by Hollongi Nyegam Youth Association and sponsored by All Arunachal Youth Association.
The winner walked away with a trophy and cash prize of Rs. 20,000 and the runner up with trophy and cash prize of Rs. 10,000.
Meanwhile, Kelik Tanyang was adjudged as best player and Gohpur Town Club Assam as best discipline team.

District level training for ASHA facilitators
MIAO, Aug 10: The District Health Society organized a 7 days district level training on module VI and VII for 20 ASHA facilitators (AFs) of Changlang was held at CHC Miao from August 3.
The training aimed to develop competencies and skills of ASHAs in the area of mother and child healthcare by providing proper support and guidance in order to improve the healthcare practices and status. ASHAs are the direct grassroots representatives of Central Government who work under NRHM to ensure better and accessible heath care services involving mother and child. The another aim of the training was to make sure that no one in rural areas is left out of the flagship programme.
